Depth of field or depth of focus is to blur gradients (for camera shake or movement for example) to settle. Corresponding photos look blurred. The technique can be regarded as a stylistic device, but of course, these images may also occur unintentionally.
The fact correct term for the space that maps the image plane is sharp, depth of field. To add confusion to this matter aside, the term "depth of focus" away from the buzz words. In the article itself, however, had nothing to be changed, since the correct term is consistently used.
