The Examiner has published a photo gallery with 21 pictures of the Sony World Photography Awards. Pictures of professional and amateur photographers from different fields.
My Favorites? Difficult: bad none of the photos. Generally, I like the monochrome images again and again.
I'll try: My Top 6 (No rating places 1 through 6):
Winner in the category of amateur photographers, "Photographic Art - Architecture" - © David Watts
"For Love of the Game: a cook, maid, mother ... and attacking midfielder" - "special price" of the jury - © Sarah Ahmad, amateur photographer from Pakistan
Winner in the category of amateur photographers, "photo art - concept art and fine art" - © Vladimir Melnik
Winner in the category of professional photographers, "Commercial Photography - Advertising" - © Dustin Humphrey
Winner in the category of amateurs, "Photographic Art - Portraits" - © Claire Martin
Winner in the category of professional photographers, "Photojournalism and Documentary Photography - current events" - © Wojciech Grzedzinski
Like almost everything in life, this selection is very subjective. After I (self-limited - no one was armed to the teeth in front of me and forced me in any manner) in some way from the gut set to six images and the entry had so far done here, I flipped through the photo gallery again by - and would also raise some other may stand in the top of the sixth It was remarkable to me: Five of the six images are monochrome images, all six show portraits, four pictures were taken by amateurs, only two of the professional photographer.
Can I still specify a seventh image, which is also cracked me in the eye again and again?
Winner in the category of professional photographers, "Photographic Art - Portraits" - © Roderick Henderson.
And again a portrait. Why am I not publish portraits? Because I hate my children to the network interface (and if so, from behind or as a silhouette ), excerpts from my wife just presenting images (like here or here ), and my family even better from the back presenting. Not because the are so terribly ugly, in fact, but one way I show only the photos that will be released, and on the other hand, I think mostly portraits for private matters. The publication of street shots, some of which I have failed so far because I got hold of the model is not able to make and hence no model release contract.
