Recently I wrote about the drug use in the United States. Now comes this map , presented by Nationalgeograf. Which region is most happy where dark clouds dwell in your head?
The map shows the percentage of residents who have felt the last time "frequent mental distress" (FMD) - frequent mental suffering with stress, depression and emotional problems.
Since this was a telephone survey, the team was the "Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)" relies on the honesty of the respondents. The darker the color on the map, the more depressed mood. It is striking that the JW Bush home state of Texas presented apparently without emotion - perhaps remember the cowboys and cowgirls do not have much, or it is same to them.
My advice: Stay away from the Mississippi Valley and the Appalachians away.
It is interesting now would be a meta-analysis: Where are taken which drugs and drug use wiie correlated with the mental status?
Many people take drugs. Somehow, everyone has their own personal drugs - some are completely legal (coffee, cigarettes, blogging), others are legal but make thick (products of American fast food chains, chocolate!). Life is much too boring without endorphins. - Interesting, what Americans consume as a fancy made-up image shows will be thrown into what parts of the country which drugs smoked, or otherwise applied to the body. In the broadest sense, it is about illegal drugs (drugs, marijuana, heroin, cocaine). Alcohol is missing - as so often happens in such statements. As a source of the U.S. Department of Justice stated.
The mere graphical realization is worth a visit.
Interesting in this context is the fact that drug use can be detected in the effluent. Here are some links:
